This week we shared our "weekend news" while sitting in Morah's chair and discussing everyone's weekend activities. Thank you for sending those pictures in, it's a great opportunity for our young learners to open up and share something they are very excited about. It also enables others to ask questions and learn from friends:)
Rachy talking about her ballet class, and showing what she has learned so far.
This week's weather helper was Naomi. Her job requirements were to: remember to ask how each individual friend is doing, how are their parents and siblings(by name), and of course what should we wear depending on the weather. Job well done!!!
Our fall collages and leaf man were created from the leaves that we collected in Prospect Park. Everyone's creativity shined through their great work!
The Letter of the week was letter "U." Our show and tell items included:
umbrellas, utensil, ultrasound, uncle, underwear, undershirt, up and under!
We practiced writing letter "U" while using different sensory materials.
This week we talked about our emotions and feelings. Somethimes we feel agry, silly, happy, and mad. Our feelings create emotions that we express. For example when we are sad we can cry, just like when we are happy we may laugh.
We have to always remember, that no matter how we feel, our friends are always there for us :)
We can also feel proud of working together as a team while accomplishing great heights!
To further our unit on family, we worked on our family/school family mural. On it you will find Mommies and Daddies, siblings, friends, our school building, grass, and our pre-k world as a whole.
The gross movement of our hands during such drawing exercise strengthens our back, shoulder and arm muscles, while still working on fine motor and and "hand and eye coordination" with our little fingers and special little crayons.
With Love,
Morah Rebecca :)
